my ex used to say mine was a tad too loud, but otherwise loved it! so much so she bought a golf for her first car (that was a nail but thats not the point - it was only 40) and now wants a 16v just the same as my last one  [|)]

the only thing my missus has a go at me about is when i spend money on it but other than that she quite likes it so long as its shiny. i keep telling her its just basic maintainence you have to do on every car or it will die, her mums the same had a fiesta ran it into the ground never serviced it then wondered why it was unreliable. and sometimes about how much time i spend with it. but she's come to realise that i enjoy it and just thinks of it as my hobby so dont nag me to much anymore. Shes never turned her nose up at it otherwise she'd be gettin the poverty truck instead.

Sounds like ya missus wants you to have a shiny newer car to pose in, alot of women and sometimes lads think anything thats old is crap.
She once had a pop at me a some years ago about her friends boyfriends car, saying his was a newer (mk4) golf gti , to which i replied yeah but thats the 2.0 mk4 gti not the turbo, its slow and mine would kill it [><] which just confused her. And when he got a bmw, i had to explain its a 316, bottom of the range slow and dull.
they'll never understand though, tell her to get a bus pass if she dont like it.

My gf likes my new MK4 golf, much prefers it to my old MK3 but as soon as i mention spending money on it I just get ignored.

Like Ive just bought new wheels, she hasn't even looked at the pics of them nor asked how much they were (thankfully).

dont suffer from this atall. i wash my mk1 gti when its dirty and take it to my mechanic when it brakes, which it hasnt yet[:D]

she on the other hand, washes her mx5 all the time, gets on her knees to scrub the wheels, allways paying for servicing costs and the slightest little thing that goes wrong with it. had to tell her the other day to stop wasting her money when she went out and spent over 200 quid on goodyear eagle F1 tyres for it, apparently there the best and nothing else will do.

she also loves my mk1 but also loves telling me how much quicker and better the mx5 is lol. though she sats her favourite car shes driven, and shes driven a lot, was my j plate mk2 16v. not a bad bird really.

Maybe you need a VAG Partner Re-alignment Tool...

Not sure of the VAG part number, maybe someone on here with ETKA can help...

I once had a Polo bread van that my gf would not even get in. I used to just laugh at her and say she had no style

She says that the MK2 16v is ok but her MK3 16v is better, to which i say she is deluded

Only really get moaned at for driving too fast.
