Have been looking at getting new car from independent dealers like motorpoint derby, etc. Has anyone on here bought a new/newish car this way. Was wondering if it effected future car value in any way Do you still get manufactures warrenty?
A guy that i used to work with asked the sales manager what his best price was on a car that he was looking to buy. Then went across to motorpoint and found a similar car and got a lot better deal from them with more money off and a slightly better spec car. You would most likely get manufacturers warranty still. But one thing to be careful of is that places like motorpoint etc sometimes buy cars in from abroad (imports) cheaper than getting them in this country. They usually have less of a manufacturers warranty as uk cars. We have had customers bring their 'new' cars to us for servicing or suspect warranty work only to find out that because it is an import it had a 2 year warranty instead of 3. I think the best thing to do is research and if you go to look at any cars then ask the sales guy all the right questions to see if it is an import, or what warranty they themselve offer plus any manufacturers warranty.
Okay thanks for the advice. Didnt realise about the imports, though they all had 3 years warrenty. cheers mark
