early AC/DC when they still had Bon Scott signing, and the next album, back in black are amazing, early bowie really grows on you. stones, who, hendriz zepplin are all excellent places to start, also sabbath when ozzy was still involved, "fairies wear boots, the wizard," etc some KISS can be ok too, check out Detroit rock city. but some is pretty lame. after 1980 it all went a bit poodle perm.
"I'm dirty, mean and mighty unclean I'm a wanted man Public enemy number one Understand So lock up your daughter Lock up your wife Lock up your back door And run for your life The man is back in town So don't you mess me 'round" from ace ac/dc track TNT

ive shockingly ordered a greatful dead album off amazon. think the cult are next on my list of bands to buy stuff from
. ERR no they're not Blue Oyster Cult a US band had 1 hit single in 1978 with the classic tune:- (Dont Fear)The Reaper The Cult were previously known as Southern Death Cult and then Death Cult, and hail from West Yorkshire. Probably their most well known tune was She Sells Sanctuary. I'll get my coat
Neil Young is pretty much all you need - spans 50's to 2000's. "Weld" is a good album to start with...... avoid a lot of the new stuff, and if you see a copy of "Trans" in a shop - leave the shop right away, and go home.
