Not posted on here for a while, but thought this would be an ideal opportunity!!
Lost control on a roundabout towards work, not even going fast and the car decided to start swerving just before the exit (obviously oil/diesel from local HGV's). Car spun out, hit a lampost and parked itself into a tree and well see for youselves.....

    Damage from the lampost:

The tree that stopped it going further into a nasty looking metal fence:

Front damage after being pulled out:

    The side again:

Absolutely gutted over this as it has literally been the best car I have owned [8(] but thankfully I got away with only light cuts to my hands from the glass. Definately a testament to why these cars are so bloody heavy!!
Insurers are hopeless in that they are refusing to give me a courtesy car until they have assesed it!! Luckilly the missus works just down the road from where I work.

Ouch! Glad to here you weren't hurt, could have been nasty if you hit the post square on in the middle of the door.

cheers for the comments, guys. Starting to fell some aching now, so investing in ibuprofen deep heat etc...! Fortunately I am fully comp, so any costs can go to my insurer. Although my no claims is protected (8+ years) I am going to see a good increase in my premium!! Looking for new motors this weekend, deffo VW but not too sure whether I want to go down the economical route now!

Get down the physio for a report while y're still bruised up then you can use it as evidence if you're putting a claim in.

Gutting, sorry to hear about your crash mate.

How will your insurance go up even though you're protected?

One of those quirks of the brain don't focus on something with the intention of avoiding it you will more than likely hit it. Pretty hard to have the same kind of intense focus on a point in space though with no marker and to also to do this counter intuitive thing when it counts.
