out of interest, does it hurt when its open like that after the event as you were in that photo?? or were you drugged up for the pain. morbid curiosity really. couple of months back i cut my finger open on a computer case, went down to the bone, i could clearly see it before my blood obscured it, have to say i didnt feel it during or after (left a nice scar tho).

 

Did it in a karting accident, can't say much more than that as I'm still undertaking legal action over it.

Didn't split it open like that at the scene (although I did break my arm) most of that is a surgical wound. that was a week after the accident. I had to look at that every morning before breakfast for a week before they put the skin graft on (the pizza looking thing in the lower pic). didn't hurt at all by then, I actually took those pictures myself.

kind of freaky looking right into a huge hole in your arm where you can see all the muscles and it's not bleeding or hurting at all.

It's still a right mess now. big ugly scar the same size and shape as that hole, nasty.
