Supergolfs have this. The latest reg'd mk2 I have ever heard of. The worlds only 'N' registration Rallye Golf. First registered in November 1995. Probably the last Rallye ever made. In gloss black totally original and unmodified. SE spec including climatronic (automatic airconditioning and full electrics). Only 56k miles from new. Price is 7495GBP
prob an import, and really is an older car. oakgreen88's sis has a 1986 (i think) mkI cabrio that is actually on a G plate....they allow it as the car was imported in '90 or whatever.
Even if it was first used in 1995 then all that means is that it sat in a field or an a disused air field for 3 years, because the tooling for making MK2s would have gone in preperation for making the MK3. It is not uncommon for brand new cars to sit around for 2 or 3 years before they are sold.
I thought that VW were still making mk1 cabrios in 1990, there was no other cabby until the mk3, but the mk1 cab was made throughout the life of the mk2 so I thought?
it maybe a N reg but all rallyes were produced in 1989-90 i believe, apparently on vortex the red rallyes were last to be produced in 1990
yes, i'm aware fo that...but this one is deffo an '86 or there abouts. its lhd and an import. took me a while to believe him.
seen a S reg one at santa pod, sorry if the guy who owns this is reading i can't remember your name but your on No rice i think. S reg due to a cock up at DVLA
my sis's car is a 1982 cabrio, and was imported in 1982 by my uncle, he never registered the car in the uk, it wasnt until he gave my sis the car in 2001 and i had to register it with the DVLA in Reading, they put it on a G-Plate
Yeah I see that Red S plate Rallye around Woking a fair bit. There were a bunch of Polo G40s a few years back that ended up on a 'T' plate; unused and unregistered for sure, but certainly not factory fresh having sat still between '92 and '99
i know that car welsh sheep. i got a few pics of it on my pc is this you? EDIT: my bad two different colours Edited by: DuBDuDe
they have now chnged the rules apparently. a car has to be registered within a certain time, thats how car supermarkets get brand new cars to sell, they have to get rid of them. i'm just thinking, if these cars have been sat on an old airfield or somewhere for like 5 years, which i know most fords used to be. what effects would this have on the car. it must be pretty bad for parts like brakes and gearboxes. i suppose the body work would be ok as its fresh paint and underseal. would theyy give them a once over or just sell them off as "straight from factory".
yeahj I'd have thought they would have had to replace loads of rubber seals & bushes on cars that have been sat for years. Probably most of the brake compoents too, don't think the gearboxes would be affected though.
