    Hi

I bought a Nakamichi multichanger (MF51) on the cheap. Predictably it doesn't work. It'll load and eject CD's OK. It shows up on the head unit that it's loaded (also a nakamichi head unit, which seems to work fine) but won't play the CD. I've tried several CD's in different slots, all with the same result.

Any idea what's wrong with it? If the laser was knackered would it still recognise it as a CD?

Any simple tests I can run, or things I can do to reset the unit.

Who would you recommend to fix it (other than a nakamichi dealer)

    Cheers for any help

    Mike

Nakamichi? Of Nakamichi Dragon fame? Very high end Jap cassette decks of the late 80's and early 90's that are still able to teach a good CD player a thing or two about timing and neutrality?

Or is it now a different company?

The same...they also make in-car kit

Excellent sound quality but slightly iffy rep for reliability.

I bought a tape deck for the porker cos it has a very simple dial layout and display...looks like it's meant to be in a 1970s car, rather than some flashy neon w*** job.
