sorry just had to get ur attention quick, cos i'm off home soon [:$]

what's the best way of stopping ur sub box and amp from being chucked around in the boot - i've got them tucked in the corner at the moment but it just keeps getting thrown about in the back, which isn't good.

what method do most people use? the amp is attached to the sub box so i just need to fix it down somehow

    cheers

yeah thats what stops my sub rolling around. need to do the amp too though. just got a load of velcro hooks stuck to the bottom of the sub box, and it lifts the carpet up when I take it out! have to prise the carpet from it! suppose it would depend on the carpet though...

Easy, if not stylish answer is to use bungee straps - they've kept mine in place for years. One of these days I'll do it properly and build it in to the side panel.

I use velcro too. I have an 12mm MDF floor with acoustic carpet which is quite hairy (can't think of a better word) and a couple of large bits of velcro hooks on the bottom of the sub box. It's stronger than I ever thought it would be, an absolute mission to pull it off.

Straps or bolts are the other methods I've heard of.

My sub box fits perfectly across the width of the boot (well, bout 1mm too big!) but all the amps uder the floor are held in place by velcro, and its never failed. I bought the heavy duty stuff from halfrauds as couldn't be bothered to round to maplin, but was damn expensive for what it was!

velcro is ok, but in an accident i would not trust it's strengh, i would prefer to have the box screwed down.

I agree with screwing down. It took thieving scroats bout 10 seconds to 'un velcro' my Stealth Sub box and amp from my boot. Just a few seconds more and i'd have made it. With my Fists Of Fury.
