name that sender

on the gearbox side of an 8v mk2 head, near to the front, and toward the top of the head.

it has a single connector. got any ideas?

 

i think its one of the oil pressure senders? as theres only one pressure sender on the oil filter bracket. cant remember if its high or low pressure though?

 

biggest clue will be to take it out and see if its oil on the other side or water.

the next problem is that i couldnt find the cable that connected to it... let the hunt begin

The one on the side of the head, above the gearbox bung-hole?

That`s the low oil pressure one.

which part of the loom would that go back to? cos i couldnt see the wiring, from memory

 

On mine it goes into the loom that runs over the top of the gearbox, then runs down the n/s chassis leg.
