Hey mk3 folks! I have a golf gti 2.0l 16valver I need some help massively!! I've been doing a rebuild for a while. Everything has been off for respray etc and refitted. I'm pretty much done. But I have a problem with the front end panel/slam panel and the front engine mount! All the engine mounts are genuine VW and all the locating marks/forks are where they should be. **The issue** The electric radiator FAN, knocks the front engine mount when it kicks in!!! The fan and motor are in fixed position on the front panel ey, and the front panel bolts on to the metal slam panel which in turn bolts to the outriggers, right?! And they are pretty much fixed positions. However the actual fan is more or less resting on the top of the front mount. Not the mount bracket but the top of the mount. Have I set something up wrong?! This is melting my brain, the hurdle I cannot get over to finish off the project. I would really appreciate any help. I hope I have explained that well enough. I have tried shifting the metal slam panel and front panel around for the extra room I need, no joy so far. I have tried spacing out the slam panel from the outriggers with washers but ended up being about 10mm of spacers. Surely that's not right. Tried shifting the engine around abit with the jack to relocate it again. But the front engine mount sits in the front crossmember so not much room for that to go anywhere!! Arrggggghhhh! Help. Thanks in advance. Gary.
