looks quite nice, but why have VW gone back to using an old model name? why not continue with golf or bora?
I see one the other day and didnt really like it tbh. Golf front with a passat like back it looks like
Maybe they are avoiding the Golf and Bora names as they still sell the Golf and have only just stopped making the Bora? And if they are trying to use nostalgia why ressurect the name of probably the crappest car they ever made?
Cause bora is a c**p name, along with vento. never should have changed it in the firstplace IMO. and as the Jetta used to be marketed as a 'golf with a boot' they couldn't have really escaped the fact that the designers this time around are getting as lazy as porsche. so couldn't really call it owt else. Just a pitty they aren't making a Jetta GTi. regards Ali.
They are not making a Jetta GTI, but you can order a Jetta Sport with the 2.0T FSI which is the same as in the Golf GTI. However, it will be set up for crusing rather than sporting. Its priced at 18790, which is cheaper than the GTI, and I would expect it to have more kit Edited by: Rob.gti
I told you Jon it's was nice looking motor, still a baby passat in style there using the jetta name to save making 2 sets of badges the bora was always called the jetta in the states totally nice car, still the same as the golf 5 though in many ways, theres are some nice features that are getting introduced on the model, like the ESP having some persuasion over the steering, and a lazy hill start feature Pity I can't post some of the pics I've got (all bound by VAG laws ) it comes in 3 trims - trend, comfort, & sport 2 best engines is the 2L turbo(147Kw), with direct injection & the 2L(125Kw) diesel which looks a cracking motor out of the car, I've not had chance to drive it yet, but with a lightened crank and with variable intake runners, it should have a very good torque curve, not availible as yet though also getting the DGS box as an option Edited by: Crispy 8V
