You would have thought as they are saying it's mostly all new, that they would have given it a different set of alloys, to mark it out from the mk5.

It looks even more like a mk5.5, with the same wheels.

I'd better get my oder in

I'm really puzzled they haven't changed the wheels, it's crying out for some Edition 30 style BBS wheels. Tey really don't do it justice at all.

They will save them for the Edition 35.

the mk 6 shares many things mk 5, the new generation hasn't warmed to me yet

not itching to drive the new GTI, pics look good - in the flesh who knows
I'm itching to get in the MK6 R20, how the mk 5 R32 should of looked IMO

FYI, our local dealer has a selection on unregistered R32's in stock:p

I love it. Its soo much nicer than the Mk5. Sounds like the interior is back to class leading standards as well. Wing suits in Norway to advertise as well, I think someone is trying to tell me something.

Specced both the Rocco and the Golf and there pretty much the same.

Gushing review in Autocar today - various superlatives.

Opens up the article saying the fear was after the Mk5, it would disappoint. But it raised the bar instead.

    Sounds cracking.

Looks good from the front, love the twin red stripes on the grille..

...but the wheel barrow twin exhausts - no need. Trying too hard. Rear 3/4 view is still iffy in my mind.

Massive rear lamps, vague wishy-washy lamp shape, not trying to be anything.... Could easily be a Japanese tall hatch/MPV piece of nonsense, ie just the sort of crap VW should avoid.

Found this thread from 2006 when they started penning the MK6.

What happened to the original ideas they had of the back of the car?

What happened was, they looked at the back of a Tourag, and thought "feck it, that'll do"

I've driven a couple of new VWs and they really don't do it for me. I prefer the feel of an old VW, the new ones are too detached for my liking. It's quite possible to make a car that's detached and comfy when you want it to be then a little bit animal when you're interested in having some fun.

Old cars are like that because they are old. New cars will never feel like old cars. Even the Renaultsport Megane R26R feels like a new car. It doesnt mean they cant be fast and fun. I love chucking our little Ibiza Sport round, and the new S3 i drove was fantastic as well as the Mk5 GTI and Mk5 GT.

i loved my lasses mk5 to drive, had the 105 bhp derv engine, but it was great off the line still.

we had to change it for a vectra to be able to fit the pram in but will be looking at summet like an ibiza for future.
