Its not terrible. Is understated compared to Mk4. was expecting a more aggressive and more powerful machine. Just have to wait for the reviews.

    EVO's take on it.

This is the better car for looks and although maybe a little scetchy in the widow making dept i think vxr have done a great job.... the golf is too plain and doesnt show its the real deal.

    my choice..

    That looks boring.

And for 23k it's 50BHP short and 200kgs (I'll bet) off the competition.
I'm sure it'll be very comfortable and have good residual values....

Will it be that much faster than the GTI [:s]

4WD and that engine must help bring the weight up a bit!

I just remembered, my boss had his mk5 gti chipped the other week, and its now putting out 250bhp

Will most definitely be quicker than the R32 too.

    Lovely in silver :)

If I was being picky then I would say I dont like the plastic bits under the front bumper, in fact all of the front  I can see it getting a bashing during the motorway pounding from a rep.

GTI front is better looking ;)

Looks so boring - looks like it was designed to appeal to 45 year old solicitors

Don't like the look of it much- seems they've missed a trick compared to the current r32...

However, don't write off the performance compared to a GTI, they'll be two very different beasts. You won't be able to put your foot to the floor half way round a greasy roundabout in a mk5 GTI, while already pushing the lateral limit for example.

As has been said - I prefer the look of the GTI.

    Rims look gash :thumbd:

Looks like the standard spec is along the lines of the GTI, except for seats and Xenons which are also standard on R32.

However, Leather, Cruise, DSG and Sat nav options will push the price over 30K :o Thats a lot of dosh!!!

Plus why do R32's always come without Front Fogs??!?!?!? [:s]
