Hi guys, my horn has stopped working and with MOT only 5 days
away this can't be worse timing, do any of you guys have any idea if
the horn has a fuse? or will i have to take off my steering wheel to fix
it? i can't find many places that sell horns lol.

Yes, there is a fuse so check fusebox first. It's fairly rare for the actual horn to fail, unless it's been clobbered on something so it's likely to be a fuse, switch or wiring issue.

I know this is an MK3 q, but if its like the mk2 set up it has an angled metal prong that has to permanently makes contact omn the back of the steering wheel.

I used to have this prob and found that if i took
steering wheel on MK2 off, and also stalks etc youull see a metal prong - adjust this out a little futher to ensure it makes contact and voila

Also test the horn in diff steering wheel positions as sometimes this may help

madbloke ill have a go its a mark 2 btw :). metal prong sounds right becuase i've had an alarm put in and the ignition cabling from the ignition key was modified (for the immobiliser) so they might have bent it in too much.

    thanx mate!

Hmm - they shouldnt have to have touched anything to do with the horn for an immobiliser as the only way of getting to this is taking off the steering wheeel and other bits and bobs.

    Did you have any luck

Mine was doin this, cured it tho. It was the wiring at the horn behind the grill. It gets rusty if the little rubber covers come off cos it gets wet i suppose from road spray etc. Just drop grill down and check.

Had the same prob on mine, it was just down to a load of crap being stuck to that metal prong. Didn't even have to take the wheel off, if you look down the gap between the wheel and the indicator stalk you should see it there, just clean out any crap thats caught up in it :)
