I tried selling my Mk 3 16v recently - 1996 N plate, 3 dr, Diamond Black black, 103k, FVWSH, standard apart from K&N, S/S exhaust and H & R springs and only advertised it on free classified sites (like CGT, PVW etc.). I had interest in it but unfortunately it was from 21/22 year olds who couldn't insure it for a decent price. In the end I traded it in for 3k against the R32. Edited by: Golfgirl
Got to be worth 'bigging it up' a bit. 'Above average' won't light anyone's fire. Don't mention the suspension mods, there are more people looking for a really nice stock example than people who will be impressed by mods, however subtle. Dont waste words describing the alarm, doesnt really help to sell it. Describe it as mint, sought after, rarely found in this condition, full history, low mileage etc etc etc And make sure it's *sparkling* when people come to look at it. Good luck
Cheers, was thinking about taking the suspension out cuz might be putting people off. Will give it a new advert and new photo this time too so no one spots it in again. "Above average condition" wasn't in the advert btw, just the rest of it. Advert might have been bad but not THAT bad, i did put at least 2 minutes of thought into it
Why thank you enc. May I add I am legally obliged to present a fair description and most customers find my descriptions accurate that's why cars usually go to the first viewers. Unlike other specialists I don't use subjective words like immaculate as one persons immaculate is anothers shed. Cheers.
