Noisy 1.8T

    Hi,My car is going in to VW tommorow to have a tapping noise coming from the top of the engine investigated its only done 53k with a full history but it sounds like a lifter , has anybody had this problem with a 1.8T at all , cheers

    is it worse when hot/cold?

    It's a common for 1.8T tappets to be quite noisey on 1.8T's.

    The garage will set you straight.
