Im going to look a t a vr6 engine tonight that is in a mk2. Its had the Connector removed for the OBD tool, but still has the wiring there. Can anyone tell me which pins which wire goto on either the normal connector or what they would goto on the dual K lines? My brother has the tool and software but we need to know what to connect what wire to.
I need to find out wire colours for:

    +Power
    GND
    K
    L

    Thanks

Depends on the year of car, but its a pain to sort!

I've been trying to wire mine up from stumpy cut wires but
getting info is next to impossible - even with a Bentley manual.
This is what i've found out from various places.

The Data Link Connectors (DLC) wires are thin (0.5) yellow
and grey/white wires which come from ECU pins T68/21 and
T68/43 respectively. There's a 12v and an earth connection too
    somewhere.

Early cars had TWO 2 pin connectors, later ones a SINGLE 16
pin connector. The yellow and grey/white wires go on T2a 1
and T2a 2 respectively (of the white 2 pin connector). The
power and earth go on the black connector with PROBABLY
brown and red/white wires . I've got a pic off the net showing a
black connector next to the white one with a brown wire in T2a
1 and a red wire in T2a 2. Do these too come from the ecu ? -
dunno, I think they come from fuse board. Don't fry the ecu by
connecting it wrong - check with a test meter !

On the 16 pin connector, 4 is ground, 7 is grey/white, 15 is
yellow and 16 red/white. You can connect 4 ground and 15
yellow to get MIL blink codes on the dash.

Not sure what K and L actually
    means ! Whats a duel K line ?

You can now get a fault reader from Halfords that plugs into the
    early vr6 DLC - 18

Any extra info anyones got gratefully received - this is a vr6
    conversion weak spot.

    how about this
