    Hey lads,

I am trying to make a list of the sensors to replace on my newly acquired 8v.

I'm looking for part numbers for the two oil pressure sensors on the oil filter housing, the oil pressure sensor on the side of the head and the coolant temperature sensor for the instrument cluster. Im struggling to find part numbers for the coolant sensor and the brown oil pressure switch on the filter housing.

So far I have the following, are these correct?:
White switch 056 919 081E on the oil filter housing
Blue switch 028 919 081H side of the head

I have looked over OEMEPC in depth and still finding it hard to identify the correct sensors.

I have #1 and #2 obviously, but struggling to find the brown single pin oil pressure sensor and the black two pin coolant temperature sensor.

Unless the coolant sensor has changed to a white two pin?[IMG]

The other sensor on the filter housing is an oil temperature sensor, not another pressure switch. Your two pressure switch part numbers look correct for the positions stated though.
Coolant temp sensor for gauge is a black two-pin one (251919501D, I think) except on early 8 valves, I seem to remember, what year is yours?

    assuming its a GTI:
    049919563A - oil temp sensor, white - 19.15+VAT
    056919081 - oil pressure switch, 1.8bar, white - NLA
    028919081H - oil pressure switch, 0.24bar, blue - 14.50+VAT
    251919501D - coolant temp sensor, black, dash - 27.55+VAT
    025906041A - coolant temp sensor, blue, ecu - 19.15+VAT

feed the above into ebay, sometimes get lucky with NOS genuine parts for cheaper. also try TPS, usually get a discount. dealers/tps may be able to source old stock for NLA parts as well.

other valid part numbers for the blue/brown oil switches are 028919081, 028919081B, 028919081D and for the white one 056919081E

you should have the white oil pressure switch and the white oil sensor in your filter housing, the oil sensor looks like the pic above except its white collar not black. the blue or brown low switch should be in the side of the head.

one possible reason to move the low switch is to shut the warning light up due to a low pressure condition in the head. I had to do the very same when i fitted a 'good rebuilt and flowed' head, which had trashed cam caps resulting in low oil pressure when hot. I was not pleased

Ok, great info thanks. I've to replace the coolant temp sensor as the gauge is reading low (thermostat changed yesterday), and one of the sensors on the filter housing is weeping oil but I dont know which is which. Ill order the three anyway as it will do no harm to have them changed for peace of mind.

1.8 bar oil pressure switch should have a yellow wire going to it. 0.3 bar one has a blue/black wire, I think. Not sure what colour the oil temp sensor wire is, John will know faster than I can look it up.
