I've just been reading an old thread about oil coolers and it made me wonder if my mk2 is running too hot! It's a 9a on kjet and on my 30 mile daily run at a steady pace I see my oil temp at around 96 degrees. If I drive a 'little' harder I can quite easily see temps of 106-7. Is this normal or should I be concerned about it?
    Cheers

    I have a 9a with 56000 kms on a rebuild.
I drive at around speed limits and i see about 102 to 106 celsius on the oil temps at cruising speeds.
Mind; i clean the radiator and a/c condenser with compressed air every spring before the heat season.
Unbeleivable the amount of debri that gets loadged there

those temps are fine. my 9a rebuilt 56000 kms ago lingers around 102 to 106 on a long summer drive.
mind i do the speed limit and not over rev past 580 rpms if i am doing some spirited driving.

Air con works the engine harder. If you switch it off the oil would be cooler I'd bet, although you wouldn't [:D]
