Twin turbo ones okay, NA ones I don't really see the point, they are nice and smooth but not that quick really, 230bhp and 1600kg. I've seen loads struggle to do quicker than mid 16s quarter miles. I'd have an R32 GTR over a Supra anyday.
Precisely. My fairly standard 8v did mid-15s with a slipping clutch! Oh yes! May have to update my `If VAG didn`t exist...` post.
That's my realistic dream car in a few years time, my old man had one about 7 years ago and they are unbelievable.
Not bad money, considering the mileage and spec http://search.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-Skyline-R32-GTR_Cars-Parts-Vehicles_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQcatrefZC6QQdfspZ32QQfromZR10QQfrtsZ50QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQga10244Z10425QQsabfmtsZ1QQsacatZ9800QQsaobfmtsZinsifQQsaprchiZQQsaprcloZ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-Skyline-R32-GT-R-GTR-Black-64k-Miles-RB26-BNR32_W0QQitemZ110208723336QQihZ001QQcategoryZ18238QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Looks a nice one, but you have to take into consideration they are expensive to run and modify. My old man's one had 2.5k worth of suspension 2k alloys, 1k body kit and another couple of grands worth of other bits and pieces. A friend of his bought a standard one last year for 5.5k and has now spent an extra 10k on wheels, suspension, etc. Would have been cheaper to buy one already done, but it is nice now, recorded 508bhp on the dyno.
if i ever get one in the future,id get one with most of the work done, because like you said you will loose badly on mods!
