Right want to upgrade my gear leaver gator, knob and handbrake gator (black matt leather) where would i get these and what r the best? Cheers
If you have money and want style Momo products will sort you out nicely. Lookin through the adds in PVW or The Golf, there are loads that sell leather gaitors and knobs etc. Personally I am wairy about changing gear lever bits because some of it looks awful. You could get leather parts off your local stealership, will cost ya mind.
Demon tweeks have got lots of products to choose from i think larkspeed may have a lot too, you could try them
i can't remember what dealer or trader it was, but i got leather handbrake and gearstick gators from Gti international this year for my old mk3 16v at 10 each!! they were really nice and good quality too. i know the next inters is probably a bit long for you to wait but 20 for the pair is a HELL of a lot cheaper than anything else you will find.
click on this link to see a pic of my interior with my Black Leather Gaiter and New Gear Knob. Gaiter = 12 Gear Knob = 14 Fitting....... 2mins www.sharemation.com/gforce999/PIC00013.JPG Edited by: G-FORCE
I've got a Momo Race Air Leather in my Jetta. (it looks looks a bit Audi TT-ish as it has little dimples drilled into the top) I've fitted a VW badge off a MK4 swithchblade key as the Momo badge came off and got lost. I need to get a gaiter though, I'm looking for one of the ones with a screw thread to fit to the base of my gear knob.
I got a nice gearstick gaiter in soft leather from GSF for 9. Momo knob from Halfords - best purchase for car to date!
Did you get anything, then? I'm also looking for a new gaiter (and probably a gearknob too) for a Mk II. If you're happy with what you got, I'd be interested to see it. Cheers, Mal.
No not yet, lack of money, what i am gunna get though is ither a standard golf ball or a trimsport golf ball but i need to find a nice black soft (not shiny) leather. Cheers
Why dont you try and get a VW Motorsport Knob and Gaitor on Ebay? They dont come up very often though.
Snappy Gaitors do excellent leather gearstick and handbrake gitors in soft black leather. About 10 to 12 quid each. Bargain.
I got a Snappy Gaitors perforated black leather gearstick and handbrake gairor set fro 20 (i think) from Inters to match my Momo wheel & gear knob. They are an excellent fit and qood quality too...
Do they have a web page? also how is the handbrake cover attached to the bottom (with a leather 1) Cheers
stick 2 strips of velcro to the handbrake below the console and then velcro the gaitor on and replace the console. Don't think they have a site, but they do advertise in the back of The Golf mag. The leather is really good quality and isn't at all shiny or cheap looking.
