They were good... but labelling them the greatest band ever to walk the earth? You need to listen to more music man!

No band is worthy of that accolade.

    Good, but not that good.

However I would say Ten is my favourite album ever, by anyone.

Don't understand how anyone could say they sucked donkey dick unless they are totally against rock music. [:s]

Pearl Jam are easily one of the best bands to have come out of the 90's.

Anyone who Neil Young takes on as his backing band are tops IMO - saw the combo (and them both playing seperately)12 years ago at Slane castle - how fucking OLD am I......... [8D] [:s]
Best stuff is the Unplugged video which you can download.....

Of all the bands of similar ilk in the 90`s PJ are easily the best, and are still going strong.

The recent best of double album contains most of their best tracks. Breathe is a fav of mine. Sadly not seen them live yet....took me 13yrs to get around to seeing RHCP

I quite like Pearl Jam...for the dodgy pun of the name, if nothing else

But if they're that good, how come their first album is still their best, after nearly 15 years?! Maybe because there's less experimental ego-tripping wierdness on it, and more concentration on good songs?

Most of the riffs on 'Ten' are still 'heavily influenced' by Hendrix though

Wouldn't say the're kings of the world, but they are bloody good

I have Yield and Ten, both are superb.

I'm disappointed that nobody has mentioned the classic "Given to fly".. an epic tune [:D]

Just been listening to 'No Code' for the first time in years... good...but still not the best band in the world.
