Getting the paint/lacquer off is the hard bit, once your through it the rest is fairly easy.

    yes,

    do it yourself.

nitromors and a lot of wet and dry, working to finer grades.

It doesn't wear off as such, but if your leaving the wheel unlacquered you'll need to repolish them quite often especially during the winter.

Really? 40 per wheel and they don't lose any of there shine, thats a bit of a bargin really. Do you laquer the wheels or just leave 'em bare?

I would polish them as le casteletts are forged alloy wheels and come up very shiny! Personally i would wait till winters over before doing it.

you've gotta take into consideration the time involved, jimmy knows better!!!!
i also treat the wheels and recommend the customer buys a bottle of the special wax too keep them in perfect condition, no repolishing is necessary

preping the wheels does take ages and if you havnt got a garrage your sitting outside on the cold with hendrix blasting on ya sh*tty hi-fi and thinking why you didnt pay someone to do them for you, plus steve gets a much better result from the wheel than i have got from mine.

you're also paying for the labour... polishing a set of wheels
isn't a 5 minute job... but if you've got the time and patience
then go for it... making things shiny is strangely rewarding ;)
