Ok, it's not really an 8 valve engine as it's only got 6 but family members Polo 1.2 6 valve engine has been burning oil and been told the mechanic says the engine is 'gone'. Anyone know anything more about these Polo 1.2 engines burning oil and whether these can be easily rebuilt or not? Family member's Polo is in very good condition and being a 2002 doesn't want to get rid, so does anyone know how big a job it is to replace the valve steam oil seals on these little 3 cylinder engines and if it's something that should only be done by a recommended engine builder?
