a friend has a polo non turbo diesel as a company car, it went for a service and the mechanic unplugged the battery and its knocked 40,000 off the clock!!!
it was on around 90 thou and now about 50 thou, in this case it doesnt really matter as its a company car so all the milage is recored but if this was a private car then surely you could get a few houndred or thousand quid more..?? it just seems weird how unplugging the battery can effect this.. unberleivable!

Locksmiths can get machines that diagnose the immobiliser when it's faulty but also adjust the odometer .

    display lcd segments

    Hello,

There could now be one segment not working in the display, making the difference between a '9' and a '5' - the upper right hand side of the digit, segment 'b' in the standard arrangement. If the polo has an instrument cluster similar to golf/vento, you could try the display part of the cluster test. See the topic 'secret MFA readings' (by Golf-Fiend).
