external gate just needs to vent back into the downpipe, and space in the polo is nigh on impossible so thats where it routed to.
okies.. sundays update for ya. tired and going home now.. mocked up in place to check the boxed bulkhead section behind the turbo is correct with DP in position etc etc.. heatshielding will be attached to the inside face of this tomorrow when i weld it fully, paint etc etc A lot more heatshielding has been added to the scuttle panel both sides now since these pictures.. turbo's on again for the moment to finalise oil drain on the car. At this stage its all about heat management such a small engine bay
Is the outside staying completely standard? Please say it is, oh how i'd love to have a wizz around in that for a day
right.. an update... been too busy doing to post.. but a significant milestone achieved Sunday. It ran! It does'nt look like much difference in pictures probably, but there are litterally >100hours in this build. it runs tho! Fuel pump located where filter was, and filter located in engine bay now. Hooked up to get working, whilst the new stainless steel push conenct fittings are being made, then just swap out the temp pipes for the pukka ones. Sufficient to get it going and tested tho some slight weaping from the oil filter sandwich plate outlet fittings to sort (tighten), and a small coolant dribble to also tighten, otherwise all look ok so far. first start of the key it fired up. few little finishing bits to do, and mapping of course. We are very nearly there finally. first map to flash into it tomorrow, so it knows its got bigger injectors and MAF, and we take it from there. Hoping for some dry conditions. :hide: as traction is going to be a non-starter
Top work, looks stunning Bill.. Cant even see the intercooler! super slealth! What plugs are you running in this one? IK20's?
