Right, after a lot of deliberation, I kinda had my heart set on a golf 1.8 T. However, I was searching through Auto Trader and came across a Polo GTI, I looked at getting one before but was kinda put off by the interior. I went to look at a (sold [:v:]) one today out of curiosity at a dealer and was quite impressed,

So now its a question of golf or polo? [:[]

Is there any major advantages of one than the other?

If you carry five people regularly, you need the Golf - Polo is just too cramped for that.

Well, its 4 adults and the littlen, although my sister is due to give birth again so it will prob be 3 adults, my neice and baby. I do like the thought of both but people always moan that they 'feel sick' in the back of my car as it is, the polo will be smaller. On the other hand, I'll get the car for me, not them!!!;)

Get the polo ,great wee car . I have one at the moment on coilovers and 280mm brakes upgrade (makes a big difference to the way the car stop) ,alot of other drivers don't suspect to get overtaken by a polo  .

Get the golf, I had the polo before my golf. Changed due to needing more power and the polo was just too small for stuff.
The boot on the golf must be nearly twice the size of the polos, which if you've got kids with you is great for all their stuff (or should that be for them! ).

Apart from the other obvious bits, like the golfs much bigger inside , the brakes on the golf are alot better than the polos, and the ride in the back is a lot better, think it's cos the golfs rear suspension is a bit stronger.
Plus if someone hits you i'd rather be in the bigger car! not nice to think about, but these things do happen.

Golf seems the more practical for you, from what you have said. Wouldnt want to put an 8 stone boxer in the boot of a polo

Through lack of space aswell as weighing it down [:D]

I think I will go with the golf, im too picky in finding the right polo, i could be waiting forever! [:s]

BTW, does anyone know if ZR's are sellin ok private at the moment.... since ive joined the forum, and reading loads of bits and peicesi'm now contemplating a VR6.. but cant p/x as (believe it or not [:$]) the ZR will be worth more, which means selling private but I really dont want to be waiting round for ages![:x]
