Av got the wheels on, but i feel a big different in the handling of my dub [:s] and am not liking it! It seems a bit skittery? A bit floaty if you know what i mean?
Do i need to stiffen the susspension? and if so what shocks do you guys suggest?

have you had your car set up properly, it could all be down to your camber/tracking, get this checked ut first, your car looks like it sits ok so i wouldent bother changeing your suspension just yet. also check your tyre preasure, keep it to manufacturor standard IMHO.

    hope this helps

    1. What are the tyres like on the Porsche wheels.

    2. What is the offset of the Porsche wheels compared to what you had on there before?

If it's 'Skitty' now i would imagine it's either

    1) Too low (IMO it is for handling from that pic)
    2) Too stiff
    3) Too low ET

maybe its just different from what you was running before.bigger wider rims do tend to tramline.different tyres can contribute too.what was you running before

I haven't banged on about this for a while so here we go again.

I cannot stress too strongly that you try and keep as close as possible to the original ET. Drifting to far from this upsets what is called the scrub radius which massively effects steering feel and turn in.

I`m on et20 and I actually like the handling of the car like this, plus if you run coilover with 7inch or wider rims you can`t stick to std et anyway..

why would that be though, when the coilovers are narrower than the std springs? I dont understand [:s]

On the rear the spring/platform on coilovers are situated much lower down the damper body than conventional spring/dampers, therefore with most 7.5" rims et35mm the clearance on the inside of the wheel/tyre is rather close...most cases a 2.5mm spacer does the trick....
I am supprised the to hear of the Porsche wheel problem...Most Porsche wheels run 55/60 et with the H+R spacer being 25mm thick you will end up with a et of around 30/35....

Done well there, I tink Gary had to run rear spacers and mine wouldn`t clear at et 35. I think if you have a look at the back the tyre will be quite close to the spring platform but if it doesn`t rub eh ;) .

The shock body on normal setup is thinner than the spring platform as Philip says, normal shocks the spring is above the tyre.

Have to say that I much prefer the handling on the Mk2 when I am running the 14" teardrops over the 16's in the sig. The 14's have got more tyre wall so absorb more bumps, which really needed when running the low suspension set up like mine.

Tub, 33 to 35 probably isn't enough to make a difference, but I know some of the guys are running odd ET with spacers where the ET is miles off.
