    Hello,

Has anyone tried to put a direct steering rack on an Mk3 Gti?
Mine is becoming noisy and i was thinking about swap it with an mk2 one, taking off servo pump and hoses as well and saving some weight and some friction for the engine.
Will it still be driveable on track?

I have a mk2 non power rack on my corrado race car. I love it apart from in tighter stuff when could do with a quicker rack. I does require some "muscling" under heavy cornering, but I prefer the feedback it gives. Personal preference as I have driven touring cars with power racks and felt very indirect.
