probably just the one... Four new tyres for the Veyron is 18k how nice does that Cgt sound ummmm, V10
I have ridden R1's and they are seriously fast. I don't even think I have words to describe how fast that bloody Veyron is..............
reminds me of the thread bout the guy who race his mate to work 1 on bike 1 in car. bike ****ed on him but car guy got into work first cos guy was takin off his leathers lol. good vid though
R1s are seriously quick bikes and if tweaked can easily eat gikserthou's alive! and the veyron would have beat the bike from standing easily even if the bike was ragging its **** off! I like bikes but the veyron is an amazing bit of engineering!
1000+bhp v 170+bhp= no chance for the bike in a straight line, but bike in the right hands would wipe the smile off the car drivers face in the corners.
How? Jezza Clarkson did this experiment on one of his videos. His predictions were the opposite to yours, he picked a R1 and a Porsche 911 Carrera to have a race. Carrera won and that was on a really corner based track. So if a Carrera beats it...i would love to see and R1 versus Veyron The drivers were pro as well. Bike = 2 thin tyres therefore slower corning speed capabilty Veyron = 4 massive tyres + 4 wheel drive so it would kick the bikes ass royally as they're would be no oversteer and very little understeer and it could constantly feed the power on. The Veyron is just out of this world engineering. Veedub deserve some kind of prize for it! Jonny.
im sure they dont car about losing that mony tbh, they just want the prize for the fastest and best engineered car in the world , which they have cant wait till something better comes out, imagine somthing better than the veyron still rather have an f40 than a veyron though
i know they dont care about the money, the idea was to see if it could be done. seraph is saying the prize is the money they sell for, but they made a loss so i cant see how that is a prize??
i really cant see VAG making a loss of 3million on each car unless they're(the buyer) tied in contractually for all the work for the life of the car? wheres the source for the build costs figure, and how reliable is it?
the build price was given by vag to top gear and it was aired at that price for the cars cost, like the stalks are 4500 each as they are solid magnesium again aired on top gear. surley someone else paid attention to this ??
Yes it's right. The thing is they're not saying it cost 5million for the parts and labour to build each car, it was all the development and testing and refining costs that meant the total project cost 5million multiplied by however many cars they are making.
You have never ridden a motorcycle have you. You would be surprised at how fast you can take a corner on a bike. I agree on a track the story might be different, but on the road I think the bike would give the Veyron a run in the twistys. The R1 is an animal of a bike and very difficult to keep the front wheel on the ground if ragging the tits off of it. Also the R1 is a slow turning bike. If it where a sports 600 the Veyron would loose in the corners on the road and probably on the track.
