Was readin the golf+ mag 2nite, and came across an article about a company (can't remember the name) who, for 8k, do a full r32 conversion into a mk2 golf!!!!

Worth a read....first couple of pages!!!

    JBS Auto Designs.

They did the white Mk2 with R32 engine that was at GTI International. Apparently they are working on converting it to Haldex 4wd too.

don't wanna sound arsy but it does just seem that JBS have just been the first to achieve it (fair play) It's not really a difficult conversion tho can't see any major problems...i.e get it on a mk3 subframe it will go in any mk2 wont it?...havent designa dubs done a 24v v6 raylle?

no different to any other vr6 conversion, apart from the header tank and air filter being on the other side, DBW throttle pedal, and the wiring.

8k for just the engine conversion...

You'll be able to buy an entire R32 for 12k in a couple of years!

    Cheers,

    Drew.

think your missing the point tho....

the best vw engine in the best vw car (IMO). and considering a 20vt will cost people around 6k it really isnt that bad.

this is for people that dont know how to fit an engine....like me. not people that can fit it themselves for 5

got to agree recardo, but then if you can find an r32 engine I bet you could get it done cheaper than that - the price is obviously inflated due to them being the only ones offering this conversion at the moment.

if it was with the haldex it would be a good deal.
