I've heard the GTI is more sprightly than the new R32.

The way most people seem to descibe it (R32) makes it sound like move of a tourer than a sports car..!

Has the new GTI been around the Topgear test track yet? The new R32 was a couple of seconds quicker than the old R32.

    The R32 makes a nicer noise ;)

If it was my money i would go for the GTI.

    Why? Well for several reasons...

    1. The GTI can be spec'd up pretty well before it reaches the standard R32 price.

    2. The handling in dry weather is as good as the R32. Obviously the R32 4-motion system is great in slippery conditions!

    3. The looks of the GTI are far superior IMO

    4. The 4-pot turbo engine feels nippier than the heavy 3.2 V6.

    5. The interior of the GTI is much nicer... less "bling"

    6. Get the GTI Revo'ed to 265bhp/300lbft torque for 500 and its a no brainer.

    7. Lastly, fuel economy in the GTI is great. I average around 32mpg and I dont hang about ;)

All valid and good points from Rob. But if it was my money i would have to have the R32. The noise wins it for me! [:D]

having driven both I'd go with the GTI, the R32 is a better car has the safer AWD, makes a better noise, and nice dials!

the GTI is more fun around town & seem to have a better drive being force inducted

pay your money & take your chances [8(]
