how about my mk4? 5 door 4 motion black black leather heated recaros xenons R32 suspension, engine, gearbox, gearknob, clocks, ecu ,black r32 wheels. schrick cams K&N panel filter 265bhp. 26K on the clock. cheap than any R32 on the market, and much classier.
Sounds lovely mate! Once the warranty runs out he'd probably get the same remap and exhaust. I've already shown my dad some of your video's at the ring and he was very impressed, with the car and the driving! At the moment we're both prefering the the R32 on looks, rarity and feel but it is 5k+ more expensive and not as practical. Hmmm, decisions, decisions...... Going to test drive an RS today. I've only ever seen one on the road before and not up close so should be interesting. Anyone driven one? Sean Edited by: seanlazyass
Its a very exclusive car and looks awesome but my Dad just wouldn't be interested in such a heavily modded car unfortunately.
Well to quote, she liked the Honda because "It was nippy but I feel like putting my fingers in my ears every time it makes THAT bloody noise!" She was talking about everytime it went into V-tech!
Modified? Its basically an R32 spec Mk4 4Motion. For a fraction of the price. Have you factored servicing and running costs? VW on variable servicing might only need a trip to the garage every 20k miles. The Subaru is sure to cost between 500-1000 every 6 months!
Well its no-where near a standard 4-Motion is it? He wants a basically standard car. That way he knows exactly whats been done to it and won't have any problems if something does go wrong. One of the criteria is the car must still be under factory warranty. We bought a Mondeo ST24 several years ago that had around a years worth of warranty left. 2 months before it ran out the bottom end let go. Could have been very expensive!
Test drove an RS yesterday. Excellent car! Nice sporty interior, brilliant handling, superb diff and brakes plus an exciting engine. It slightly stiffer than the R32 and Impreza but not crashy at all. Up close they look really mean and purposeful, particularly the front end. Its also probably easy for my Mum to drive with its gentle clutch and slick gearbox. Compared to the sharper clutches and more sensitive throttles of the other two cars. I think my dads finally made his decision. Just need to find the right one now and make sure its "nippy" enough for my Mum! Sean
It's a pity about the stripey seats and blue steering wheel though. Did you see 5th gear, Tiff was only 0.8 a lap slower in the new Fiesta ST than he was in the FRS (around Anglesey) Edited by: GVK
Yeah the stripey seats and steering wheel are pretty much the only thing Im not too keen on. I missed 5th gear but my mate was telling me about it. Anglesey is such a tight twisty circuit so Im not surprised the Fiesta was close to it. We're going to look at another one tomorow. Its got a Superchip's Bluefin thingey, which makes it 250bhp!!! We test drove a few before buying the Honda a year ago. Amazing cars, but unfortunately too extreme. If it wasn't also used for the shopping we'd have one! Plus servicing and running costs are huge in comparison. Sean
