Reading Autocar this week, it seems that number one on Phoney Tony's to do list when Parliament reconvenes on Oct 10 is the Road Safety Bill.

Contained in this phonebook-sized piece of tedium will be a ban on 'speed camera jammers and detectors'. This does not affect GPS.

The former are already illegal, but detectors aren't and are often part and parcel of things like Road Angel, I think?

The upshot of this is that *in theory* Road Angel / other units capable of detecting radar become illegal overnight unless you disable the radar detector side of it...

Anyway, I'm posting this up more to promote discussion/thoughts on what people know and are going to do.

I've yet to buy a detector, but am determined to get something soon, and I may need to jump in before the clever bits get banned ;)

Why do you need a radar detector? Would you carry a beat bobby detector
in order to avoid them while walking around the town if there were such
    a thing?
