So the old girl went in for an MOT today and she failed. On 2 things

    Reave load sensor not working
CV gaiter inner nearside not bad I though!

My question is regarding the brake compensator
I've read all the links to it, I have a lowered car so have adjusted the spring to take the slack off, it was a little stiff with the spring off so WD40 and nice and free. But how should the lever sit.. it's closed under cars own weight and in centre pin all way in. So any excess weight should pull the pin out to let more fluid through? Is this correct?. I wasn't sure what they checked for? And I could move it against the spring pressure to open it, I'm aware I could be talking in reverse for what it actually does. I mean the cars standing weight and the spring is tighten just so the slacks taken off. PXL_20240403_190801269.jpg PXL_20240403_190747198.jpg PXL_20240403_190725263.jpg

the above isnt right, the 'factory setting' involves hooking up pressure gauges inline with the rear brakes, then fine tuning them to a specific pressure.

but in the real world, you do in fact just do as above. set it with the slack taken out of the spring then forget

I would be inclined to remove the whole lot, de rust it and maybe replace the valve body depending on what it looks like inside the connection holes.
