recomended enclosure volume for 6.5" mids?

    Anyone know the recommended enclosure volume for Infinity Reference 6520cs mids or could hazzard a guess?

    I'll be honest, car mid's aren't really designed for sealed operation per se.

    They are meant to breath into the doors, and manufacturers know that doors aren't completely sealed so build that into the design of the mids.

    BUT

    I suppose a door is about 1 cuft so if you make an enclose around that size sealed, it should be okay.

    Hmmm. I'm going to refit my install and was thinking of reprofiling and sealing my door pockets to house my mids. To follow your chain of thought, a cubic foot seems small compared to the volume inside a door.

    A cubic foot is about the volume of a door.
    Definitely do not put mids into sealed pods, most do not perform at all well like that, it will kill midrange and midbass performance.
