    Hi Guys,

Looking for some guidence/experience with choosing a CAT 1 Alarm and fitters in the Staffs area.

I have had a look around and see that the prominant players are Clifford, Toad and Cobra - Clifford seem the most sophisticated.

The choice of fitters seems a minefield !!!!

I have fitted aftermarket central locking and electric windows (In pro complete replacements) so would ideally like these to be operated by the alarm.

I have budgeted about 400 fitted.

My impression is Clifford for gadgets and Toad for reliability.

I have a Toad A606 and have had no problems with it.

As for fitters, can't really help you.

Get a Toad Ai606, I've got one and its very reliable, will operate your doors and has 2 more buttons to assign to different tasks. Mine cost me 300 fitted, and for an extra 50 I could have had the total closure option, but I didn't have enough money at the time. I got mine from here, and they seemed to do a good job, haven't had any problems so far!

An alarm is only as good as the person who instals it, IMHO.

Fitted an Autowatch 160rli cat1 to my brothers MK4 yesterday. Seems alright, rolls the windows up etc.

I switched of the arm/disarm bleeps tho. Sounded a bit gay to me.

Can't complain for 60 tho and my expert fitting skills
