As a few of you know, i'm fitting a 24v 2.8 into a mk2. Things are going swimmingly and i've tried to contact a few different companies for having my ECU tweeked. Unfortunately, i've not had a response in nearly 3 weeks from anyone! Are people busy or do they not want my money!?!

    I have a Motronic 7.1 ECU from a 2000 Bora 4Mo and i'm after the following;

    Immobiliser/alarm deactivated
Advice on SAI/Lambda's with what to do as I may fit a single sports cat - Car is a 92 J Plate, I know I don't need one but unsure if the car would benefit from it in anyway?
VSS disable as i'm keeping stock clocks
Any other features that I could benefit from having switched off?

    Any recommendations?

Stealth Racing were pretty helpful when I had my ABF ECU immobiliser defeated. A more basic system than yours but they might be worth a try.

I think Badger 5 might offer ECU services too.

Have a chat with Rubjonny or Toyotec, they might be able to help or direct you in the right places.

United were one of the companies I tried, with no response. I have been under the impression that the VSS wont work with GTi Clocks and puts the ECU onto a limit of 5200rpm or is it that the signal wont get sent from the clocks correctly to the ECU? Do they need to be specific GTi Clocks then?

yes they need to be gti clock, as its only them that the vss sensor on, you just connect up the vss wire from the ecu to w1 on the fuse box

Having a vss would mean you could add cruise control....

An interesting thought but I don't know how to add mk4 stalks to a mk2 steering column. I would have to relocate the hazard switch for one.

lol aye i'm sure you could but would it be worth it i think not
i'v use it on my mk4 less than 5 times in the 10 years i'v had the car

i would just stick to getting the car running first

I'm not fussed about getting the cruise working if i'm honest. If I could then happy days but not really bothered!

I was referring to the new cluster needing a different wiring loom. I'm sure I could bodge something up there :p

I retro fitted cruise to the wife's mk5 and it gets used exactly - never! lol

    A lovely 1.6 driver :)

It's now a blue shell with a 24v lump on the floor where the engine should be, surrounded by 4motion spares from my donor!

I opted to go with C2 motorsports after a few recommendations from various people. Turned out they are also United Motorsports, which I guess explains why they both have rubbish websites. I will let you know how I get on.

Time to get the loom sorted and the engine fitted!

pretty sure the driver clock loom has the wires you need for mfa and vss, if not just fit a mk2 gti clock loom :)

sai you can delete, 2nd lambda wants codign out but you keep the pre-cat lambda. im sure they're already told you all o that mind
