Just a case of a battery box, some heavier duty cable from front to back I suppose?

Anyone got any pics how they did theirs? :)

Put mine where the back seats go so I could use the spare wheel well, pipe in the 2 vent holes and then out of the bottom of the car in case I rolled the car, earth to the cage mount and HD cable to the front through an isolator. Battery sealed In a fibreglass box from RD, they do a plastic one but it’s flimsy so I just bough the plastic one to fit the camcorder in while using it for the bullet cam

Gary some of the VW cars came with their own battery box with a row of fuses attached to it that might be handy.

Yes the do but the base on them is weird you'd need to make up a bracket and I couldn't be bothered and I couldn't find an area of the boot floor flat and big enough for my battery, so i just used the sides fused links bit and the top, mine was from a 9n tdi

9n fusebox, skoda fabias have the same box, I can take a pic of the base if you want?

As we are on the subject would it be easy for me to fit mine behind the passenger seat or just in front of it? & would there be anything to take into consideration?

daft as it sounds have a look at the mk 5 battery tray, all new parts about 20- including the lid with battery symbol on

only 3 screws to bolt down std (one need cutting), might get a snap later

    Finally done this

    BMW E36 M3 +ve cable
    Ford Transit -ve cable
Marine battery box mounted behind passenger seat.

Just need to P clip the +ve cable in place and tidy up the underbonnet wiring.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally got around to re-locating the battery on the mk2.

Funny lunch box. free [yes yes,I know the harnesses aren't ideal]

Earth lead is from a 2001> Ford Transit - when the dual-mass flywheel falls apart, which is a regular occurence on those, the swarf jams the starter motor and blows the fusible link (the earth lead)
I had one in the shed, which I just cut out the fusible link part and bolted the cable to the earthing point. free

Used an old Beetle battery clamp, donated by my neighbour but the battery could still tip up, so made up a right angle bracket to secure it, it's rubber backed but as it's bolted to plastic, it's never going to short to ground anyway.
    BMW E36 M3 battery cable!

I'm still using a normal 063 battery, would be better with one of those sealed racing batteries to save weight I guess. I need to find a vent pipe for it too.

I'm planning to do this on the track Scirocco, and grabbed a battery cable from an Audi 200 Quattro that a mate was breaking (about 5m long).

What sizes of battery are people running in the boot, to save weight and still get the engine to turn over?

Anyone running a lightweight battery? I know a guy who runs one in his 911 without starting problems (engine in the back, battery in the front). It's only 8.5:1 CR though.

Alot of guys who have 200sx's run small racing batteries due to fitting a FMIC doesnt leave them much room. My mates seems to start fine but again these cars have a low CR, plus when trying to jump start off it, it almost stalls.
