Hi, fitted a 2nd hand set from volkswagonspares.com only took a day. If you get second hand ones, strip down the motor/reg assembly and re-grease it take off door card, lower window untill you can see glass mounting bolts, masking tape galss to doopr frame, remove manual regulator, fit auto regulator, plumb it in! You need en electric window centre console The main problem is remembering to push the button rather than clawing at the place where the handle used to be

Right thanx alot mate. Oh and what cars electric windows can i get them off? Its for a 3rd mk2 golf. Can i get them off: 5dr mk2? rocco? or anything else? Thanx again
I think the 3door and 5door mechs are interchangable, but mechs from early doors (with quarter lights) don't fit later doors, and vise versa, without alot of messing about with cutting the runner lengths and drilling new holes. I know, as I fitted late mechs to some early doors for a mate....... Loadsa faffing! You can't use mechs from other cars either.
