Hi people I'm gathering the bits to retrofit electric windows to my mk2 is an 88 8v with the hazard switch in the middle not on the steering column. Im just wondering is there anything to consider regarding the loom that has to be run to the fusebox are they both the same for ce1 and ce2? Thanks guys.
the ce1/2 loom wiring is pretty much identical, one difference is ce2 the relay is behind console and ce1 above fusebox (maybe early ce2 were like ce1, not sure of when changover was exactly) main difference you care about is where the ignition live comes from. On ce2 the ignition comes from the D plug, CE1 it goes to one of the G spades you can use 1,2 3 or 5. so all you need to do is cut the wire of the D plug if that's still on there (or it might have a black timer pin plug housing) then crimp a spade on to suit your CE1 fusebox last difference is the original ce2 loom has a nice plastic spade plug housing to fit into Y, but it has no affect on you can just plug it into one of your ce1 fusebox live P spade terminals. earth is same either way, goes to earth claw near fusebox
Is it one relay that supply's both switches and the switches take the load from the motors?. So if one side works the supply to both switches should be good?.
