Hi,I recently had a Revo remap on my mk5 Gti and I very pleased with the power gain, but in 1st and 2nd gear I get lot's and lot's of wheel spin when accelerating so I was thinking of getting some wider front tyres, but I dont know if they would fit on the original alloys and if this would solve the problem. Or is there anything else I can do? THanks.

Turn the ESP back on, get an ATB diff fitted, or as above, don't mash he throttle everywhere!!

My other half had her Ed30 Revo'd at the weekend, has transformed the car, mid range torque on the motorway is storming now!

As above, it's quite cold at the moment and the Tyres VW stick on cars are usually fairly hard so they last ages... maybe gets some winter wheels with some Rainsports etc

There's a few things you can do apart from moderating the right foot:-

Depending on what alloys (17's or 18's) you have, 235/40/18's would fit on 18" alloys and would give a little more grip. The rolling circumference would alter slightly, but not enough to make any significant difference.

Change your tyre brand - Goodyear eagle F1 assymetrics, Michelin PS2's and Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's are all good wet and dry tyres.

Uprate your suspension - less lift = less scrabble for grip and more control

Add a Quaife or Peloquin ATB diff.
