... the new hand held speed camera guns was on my way home from the gym and noticed there were two coppers in a police galaxy pointing their gun at cars coming towards a speed camera. Quite a clever but sneaky place really, everyone knows its there so speed up to it, and slow down as they go past it I dont take the RA2 to the gym, its only a few miles and safer not to leave it in a locker/the car. So went home picked it up and went back to where they were. Convo went something like: Me:'hi, do you mind doing me a favour?' Copper: 'umm whats that?' Me: 'can you point your speed camera gun at this*RA*?' Copper looked at the other for the answer with a grin, the other gave him the nod and it worked they both seemed a bit suprised and i think they were hoping it wasn't going to work. So he said i think theres a bit of a delay there though. Other coppers says, but you don't need one of those anyway, i can tell you the top speed of your car. Me:'go on then...' Copper:'70mph' Me:'umm... spot on' They were both cool about all of it and saw the funny side of it. I then pulled of slowly expecting them to try and have me again thinking i was being cheeky or something, but they didn't
IIRDC they need more than one blast at you, also hopefully they pick up when they are targeting people infront of you.
The key question is whether it's a laser hand held. The general consensus appears to be that you're speed's clocked as soon as the RA picks it up. GVK care to comment?
I think that the RA's plan is to pick up scatter from when the gun is pointed at other cars, if there is no one else around the guns pointing at you then its too late. Something like that anyway, sure it says about it in the manual for the RA Classic.
