    Hello

Got a MkII Golf GTI for track use only!

Do I fit a weld in roll cage or bolt in cage?

Do I have clamp mount plates or welded mount plates?

    [:^:] Any advice greatfully received.

    Hello out there.

Need to fit a roll cage to my MkII Golf GTI '89

I need to know what's the best option. Bolt in or weld in?

Also should I use clamp together bolt on mounts or do I use weld in mount plates?

Will this be a DIY job or do I need to go pro fit. I have all the tools needed. Cheers for any advice.

I fitted the Safety devices 6 point bolt in cage, and then got a local garage to weld in the mounting plates the cage bolts to. You don't have to do this on the front and back two, but the middle two mount on the cill box section and have captive nuts so you need to weld in that bracket anyway each side.
Safety devices are bolt together for some of the joints, but they're all MSA approved anyway.

me and the old man fitted a front and back safety devices cage. It is bolt in, but like CarlS says you need to weld in some mounting plates. Easy enough to do tbh.

Well I should imagine it depends on your budget!
