    Weird world or what?

I can hardly believe that only a couple of hours before Lee's post, I was talking with my FSon, via Skype, and the subject of most people appearing to covet 6 x 15s, over 7 x 15s, arose!

As I said to him at the time: "I hope Lee remembers I have first refusal on his 6 x 15s"

    Thanks SSon.[:*:]

    Regards, SDa.

I have been drawing up the MkII front suspension to ascertain what ET I can use with Audi hubs. (Extra tappings at 4 x 100 PCD). It looks like ET 42 are the ones I really need, but I have not come across any as yet in 6 x 15, only 7 x 15. Having said that, I am not averse to a bit on machining on the Audi hubs, skimming the disc boss, and modifying the strut mounting holes, in my home made VWMS uprights, to make ET 38 work!

I agree with Chris. The 6s look spot on. The very last of the VWMS Mk1s, on R8 flat spoked wheels, appear just right!

I have found out that these wheels were standard fitment on Renault GTAs, for most of the rest of the world except the UK. Not sure of the size though, may only be 14s? I quite like them as thay look like forest rally wheels with the anti-gravel disc!

Definitely my fave, though these are actually in white [:*:] Edit, I think the ones in the magazine picture are too?

But are these curved or flat ?

What size & offset do we reckon these are? To me, they look perfect, but possibly over-tyred and creating a visual illusion, assisted by the lack of arch spats:

A race Mk1? Pictured in a GTi Engineering brochure from the mid-90s. I've nothing else on the car at all!

Again. With that profile tyre I call 6Jx15". A 14 would be much deeper at even 50 series.

Nice one Dave, worth the wait!

I've never seen those unusual Renaults before, I'll start looking for them!

Looks like the R8s have always been a favourite of VW, check this out!

    Lee.

    Don't stop looking!

Because: You may just find a set of the fabled 'Magnesium R8's?[:D]

    OR.

The Renault GTA wheels with built in gravel shields.:p

I don't know what ET these are, I guess 38? I really need ET42 or larger for the Audi hub set-up.

Of course you can have the centre caps, for the price of postage. If that's OK? I would not use them cos. they will add 100gms., or so, to the unsprung mass![8(]

    SDa.

PS. Have not heard from Parz yet. I hope the deal is still on?[:s]

If the table is correct (and these are 4x108?) these will be ET45 (Part # unknown but possibly 5634.xxx) .

    They are 4 x 100.

My post below was incorrect. I mean to say:

They are probably ET35, but I hope that they are ET42.

It would be really great for the chart if they were ET38 as we have found no reference to such as yet!?:o

With regard to the use of Audi 80 hubs. They will be drilled and tapped to 4 x100 to replicate the VWMS hubs. I wonder if the VWMS hubs: 893 407 615 VWM were actually machined down to the same bearing to wheel mounting face offset as the MkII hubs. I shall fire up the CAD system and check if it is feasible as I have already drawn up both MkII and rear 90Q hubs.

Let me know and I will update the table if needed. ;)

P.S. - not jealous. At all. Honest. much. I mean it.
