Today I had to resort to crushing my rotor arm with a pair of mole grips to get it off. Most of the plastic came away, but when I tried sliding the new arm on, that ended up splitting too. So my question is, do I just need to sand down the remaining plastic to make the spindle smooth and round, or does the spindle have some kind of groove/shape running down it that's hidden by the plastic in the pic? Really don't want to break another one when it arrives!

As Benny said pick out what is left of the old one and fit the new one
for some strange reason they glued them in when new not seen one that was for years

this may be why you had a problem getting the old one off

ps no need to glue the new one
