Heard this today- "If anybody has an outstanding order for anything from Safety Devices - Harnesses, roll cage etc. Then just to let you know they went into administration as of the 14th June" Not good news 'eh
Looks true. Companies House are showing its registered office now in Cheltenham, whereas SD were based in Soham. Sure sign the liquidators have been appointed. [:^(]
Phone up the receiver for those obsolete stock bargains?! Cash sales preferred?! So is there anyone left in the UK who still makes roll-cages? Aleybars went years ago I think (taken over by SD?), so who does that leave?
And there are several others, less well known. Caged is a name that has come up. But for pure six-point bolt ins, the market is poorly serviced now. OMP do them, and err.. dunno
I'm sure S/D went bust a few years ago and were bought out by Matter, so don't know where that leaves them. There are lots of people who do shell prep ie. weld in cage, but the only other bolt in people I know are Sparco, OMP and Weichers. Think Matter do some, like 996 GT3 factory option etc.
Matter is an old name of SD at Cos House. Not sure what Matter in Europe does now. Tony Fall (ex car competitor) bought the operation some time ago & ran it since.
