Tempted to give up on the valver I've got, it's just a money pit.
I want to start with something standard again instead of throwing all my money at someone else's neglect.

Seen a scala for a decent price.

Wondering what people thing about them who've owned them.
Personally I've always liked the styling and think they're underrated at the min.
(Think about how campervans were worth peanuts for a few years in the late 90's.)

I'm also wondering what can be transfered over from a mk2 golf as I have lots of spare suspension stuff and other bits.

    Cheers

I voted yes but only if it's an injection. As for mk2 Golf stuff, nothing is really compatible.

The hubs, struts and wishbones all differ. Rear drums and wheel bearings are the same tho.

    It's injection.

Guess one reason for wanting one was seeing a scirocco doing a 15.6 at pod on a standard 1.8 carb engine with 25bhp nos.
    EDIT: second reason.

That's kinda what's happened with my valver. [:x]

As an ex rocco owner, the dark side (of mine at least) was the heavy
steering and the monkey-like left arm needed to reach the gearlever if
you've got long legs. Other than that it was just par for the course
    for an old motor...

Nice driving position, quicker than you'd expect, dashboards prone to being obviously cardboard

As above, I have had a few scirocco and it has to be an injection, feel fast maybe the driving position. Still think my old GTX was one of the best handerling cars I have drove. Did anyone see the white one at E38 with the bbs and no rear wing, that looked sweet.

    sciroccos rock!

mk2s do look a bit funny though. but they are great cars nevertheless and dirt cheap at the mo. saw one en ebay that a dealer had as part exchange he wanted a 200 "deposit" when the auction ended. it only went up to 100ish
