    Hi there,
I'm fitting the complete dash and controls from a Mk1 Leon 20vt in to my Mk2 project.
    http://www.clubgti.com/FORUM/showthread.php?t=196688

The Radio head set that came with the car also has an Autochanger in the glove box so I want to keep the system complete so as not to spoil the dash with an aftermarket headset. However the car was complete but came to me as salvage with no docs, it had no battery on it so the radio is now not working as it needs its code.... HELP, does anyone know if they can be de-coded so as to make it work??? and if so how?

    Thanks in advance.
    Philip (PAB).

yes they can as mine was decoded by previous owner to put back in as he lost the origonal code or try a stereo place although a salvage yard maybe better .

I've been on several of the on-line sites for re-coding, my unit is made by Grundig and the code is not available over the web. I've sent it in the be workshop decoded, should get it back by the weekend.

Just a quick note, Are you using the ECU the radio came from?
Normally with this you just need to turn the ignition on and it will come up with SAFE.
Then turn the ignition off and back on and it sould work, the code is in the ECU.

I know this applies for VW radios, Ive done it on 2 but not sure on Seat ones.

Yip using the OE managment, nothing I tried could get it to work. Sending it to be de-coded/re-coded was the last option.
