single badged grille with red surround

were these ever made for mk2 golfs? i think one would look sweet with a red mk2

 

I've never seen one, so presume not, but wouldn't be that hard to paint one yourself?

 

I dont think they were, although I have a poster advertising the new gti (das neue GTI, it's all in German) from when the mk2 came out and that has a red lined 2 lamp grill but also has odd alloys and other features no associated with production cars so I guess it's a pre-production shot.

If my scanner worked I'd show you...
